Heatwave set to continue around UK...

The heatwave currently hitting many parts of the UK is set to continue for at least another week, forecasters say.

The BBC weather centre said conditions would become more unsettled in northern areas towards the end of July, with the south enjoying warm weather for longer.

On Saturday, the highest temperature in the UK this year, 31.4C (88.5F), was recorded at Heathrow.

There are currently delays at London Waterloo train station because the heat has caused a rail to buckle.

Network Rail, which introduced a speed limit near the station last week due to high trackside temperatures, has closed platforms one to four at Waterloo and said "engineers are on site".

Sunday 18th March – Mothering Sunday
Why not give mum a break this year and treat her to lunch at Nuthurst Grange Hotel. Book a table (or maybe an entire private dining room) at the Hotel and tell her just how special she is. Our Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch menu is served from 12 noon in the Orangery or Kingswood Restaurants.

We are also happy to offer a discounted accommodation rate for any guests wishing to stay over on the evening. We will be able to offer some light snacks in our Orangery on the evening (if you still have room!).

We are pleased to announce that Nuthurst Grange have chosen Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance as our nominated charity for the year. We have never devoted our efforts to one charity before, and this is the idea of Stuart Maun, business consultant at the Hotel. Stuart has been supporting the Charity for many years within his other roles, and the Charity was an obvious choice to put forward to the hotel proprietor Paul Hopwood.

Paul said “We are very pleased to be working with WNAA as it is a local charity that everyone is aware of. We regularly see the helicopter flying overhead responding to emergency calls on the nearby motorways”.

Anyone for Tea....

The Traditional Afternoon Tea – A thing of the past, or a British sensation growing in popularity and appealing to the younger market nowadays? In our opinion Britain is strangely becoming a nation known for Afternoon Tea eccentrics, and we for one are very happy about it!

You could say that it’s the one meal of the day where you can really divulge and devour – the one where you can marry sandwiches with cream cakes, treats and pastries, all washed down with a delicious cup of traditional English tea! The perfect combination.

This summer certainly proves to be an exciting one in the UK, with plenty of events taking place that we should support and be proud of. With the Queens Jubilee just around the corner, an extra day off work to celebrate, plenty of sunshine (we hope) and a summer of great sporting events – it’s something we are all looking forward to at Nuthurst Grange Hotel & Restaurant.
